So how often do you all check for tasks throughout the day? Every minute? 30 minutes? Hour? Every couple of hours?
Quite often usually, ~once per minute when I feel there might be tasks available (like in the evening\past midnight, European time); I just read a book or watch the TV while refreshing the tab or hitting the acquire button. However, when I know the chances of getting tasks are very scarce (like in the morning), I tend to relax and refresh once or twice every 30 minutes, if I power up the PC at all. In fact I usually power up a PC, check if there are tasks, and then shutting it down until lunch.
Problem is that 90+% of my tasks are from my native language (Italian), which I receive in clusters of a few minutes thought the day, which lead me to think all the time wasting refreshing is probably to get a chance for a few extra English tasks.
I've read the announcements at the Ad Community Portal (20th of May). They updated the FAQs: "Question: Tasks are really low right now, what should I do?" "Continue to check EWOQ at your convenience for tasks, we expect that volumes will pick up soon, we don't have an exact timeframe right now but as soon as we have an update we will let you know over email/SMS. If you have signed up for the SMS service, if not you can sign up here." "Question: Will I be penalized if I can't complete my hours in a given week?" "There is no need to worry, if there is a low volume of tasks available, we will take this into consideration. We do not expect you to complete any set or minimum amount of hours when task volumes are lower than normal. We realize that this is not possible, and we are grateful for your patience at this time." "Question: How often do I need check for tasks during the day?" "Tasks are allocated on a first come first served basis, however we understand that it is not possible to continuously check for available work. All we ask is that you check EWOQ for new tasks at a time that is convenient for you. We would encourage you to sign up for our SMS alert service if you have not already done so, here and we will send an alert as soon as tasks become available. We will also be in regular contact with you via email and please also do not be afraid to reach out to us at any time if you have any concerns. We understand this is a challenging time at the moment and we are extremely grateful for your understanding and co-operation."
