Yes. Here are some comments about it.
WFHFan: I did Location Based Rating. You just have to turn on the location on your cell phone and sync up with your personal gmail. If you visit stores on any day, you have to verify the time and place. It is just like any other query.
dani: Yup same for me, I do the Location Based Rating. I maybe only get like one or two a month (maybe I just don't get out much haha). Like if I go to a store or restaurant it just asks you to confirm location and date/time. All it asks is were you at a certain place at a certain time. It takes a few seconds.
kayree: I do those tasks, but they hardly come up. Every once in a while I will get literally one task (rarely two) related to a location. So, you're not missing much work at all. I suppose it could be different for others, depending on what places they frequent. I mostly see those tasks in regard to whatever grocery store I went to.
asher: I signed up for location based rating over a month ago and have yet to have any tasks related to it.
buzyb: I've done the location based ones since I started last year and it's not worth getting a phone just to do them. I get maybe a handful a month, if that. It's like you log in, you will get one or two and then either NTA or you start in on your regular tasks if they are available. I got a new phone recently with a new number so I don't think they even track me anymore.
TL;DR - It's legitimate, but won't provide much in the way of work. It requires an Android phone and the few extra tasks aren't worth the expense of getting one if you don't have one already. Since you provide an email address and your location is tracked, some people have concerns about privacy.
