So, I've been working for a company, and for many seasons they seemed to me like a legitimate company. I order to get paid they send your money to your PayPal account. You have to give them the following information before they send the money:
1. Your address.
2. Your Social Security number.
3. Name.
4. Scanned signature.
5. Email address of your PayPal account.
I previously gave them a photo ID copy when I joined the site.
Does this seem fishy to you guys? Why would they want my Social Security Number in order to put the money in my PayPal account? It seems totally unnecessary.
-Thanks, John

I don't like giving my SSN out either, but I've done it before for WAH jobs, so it seems standard to me personally. Why, are no WAH jobs supposed to ask anymore?

Thanks for reply.
"Why, are no WAH jobs supposed to ask anymore" I don't understand why they need it.

You're welcome. I don't like it either & I wish ALL jobs would stop.
I wish there was more action on this discussion board.

Is the company Always On Time? If it is, I wouldn't give them the information if I were you. Total scam.

Since you're already working for them, John, my guess is they want the number for tax purposes. Are you comfortable enough with them that you can ask why they need the number?
