Hoping those of you who were working Appen this summer still working, everything going well for you.
I've passed all the tests except one, the one for copy editing transcription. I passed the other tests I took, but have been told no openings right now. Understand they need extra ppl warming up in bullpen, but it's pretty aggravating to test for nothing. Did you guys have a long wait for things like crowd sourcing, search evaluator jobs?

Honestly I applied and they quickly accepted me and told me to wait until a position was open, then a few weeks after that I was offered my current position. It sounds like other people have had to wait longer though.

I'm in the falcon per hour crowd but not yet working so don't know how many hours to realistically expect. Anybody working this?

Anyone familiar with the market customization project with Appen? I'm in it but haven't done anything yet. As I understand it, it will consist of different contracted projects.

I typically finish early, but they should have at least given you a general ballpark figure for how many hours. I haven't had a day yet where I worked the full amount of hours, but I get fairly close.

So I applied for the Web Search Evaluator job and received an email that said to click on the link for the pre-screen. Well I must be blind or something because I see no link lol. I emailed them about it but haven't gotten a response yet. Anyone else have this problem before?

Can't say that I did, sorry!
I've gotta say: I like this new position and having guaranteed hours, but I did the math yesterday and I am typing upwards of 25k words per week for this position. My hands and arms actually hurt after a shift because of all the typing...

I don't know too much about this, but maybe you could create a document to cut and paste from (things you write over and over) or use something like this. textexpander.com/

However, they have so many projects there and each one is different so I don't know if that applies to all projects.

But yeah I can't do that for my project, it's explicitly not allowed. I'm sure I'll get used to typing this much, but with ZC I maybe type 500-1000 words a shift so it's a big change!

Did anyone who recently signed on for the Falcon per hour crowd have trouble receiving their SharePoint login info to access the guidelines for the test? I received all of the qualification emails but I never got the email with my login info for SharePoint so that I could study the guidelines and take the test. I have emailed SharePoint as per the project manager's instructions several times and I haven't gotten a response.

Ahh, total snoozefest, isn't it? I got switched from that to a similar project with less hours but I type fast so I try to take my time. Total Snoozefest, yes!!! All the same I'm still grateful for it....you just never know with these contract jobs.. hello, I just got the invitation email from Appen , I wonder did Appen really contact any of you via skype call? thanks.

Hi everyone. Yesterday I took the 3 part pre-assessment test and I was already invited on a project. I do have some questions though. From my understand the pay will be $13.75. Is this in US$ or Canadian$? Does anyone know? What about taxes? Are they taken out from my paycheck or do I have to take care of that myself? Thanks in advance for your help.
