I have been working for Cambly for almost month now and I love it! I teach English as a Second Language. Most of my students are adults. Most of the students are from KSA, Turkey and Brazil. The majority of the students only want casual conversation and it is easy money! Every once in a while I get a special request to do a lesson on Job Interviewing, Resumes and cover letters, prepare for IELTS exam, how to order at a restaurant, or how to talk with the staff at the airport and make requests. Most lessons are in the Cambly Library ready for me when I need it. I just split my screen and have my dash board on the left side and the lesson on the right side and use it as a guide as needed. If I can't find something I just google it and find something on another site and use it as a guide. 99% of the students are so kind, friendly, and respectful and I enjoy them. It is the easiest money I have ever made! I get paid every Monday via Paypal! I could not be happier! I am posting my link below because it is easier and quicker to get hired if you use a referral code. www.cambly.com/en/tutors?referralCode=andrea1999

Congratulations, veganpommom! I'm glad you found something and you love it. I hope others who apply will tell us about their experiences with the company, too.
We're OK with this referral link because you're an active member and this is a genuine job.

veganpommom , Would you mind giving more details on how much the position pays? Is it on a per-conversation basis? Thanks Edit: Woops, nevermind, just checked out their site and found the pay info!

Great & thanks SO MUCH for the link. I'll probably have to start doing something else very soon. Yes, please give us more info:
- Is Webcam mandatory OR can you do it via phone only? I really don't care to be seen.
- What's the shortest & longest you've talked to people? Is it just whatever you each feel like?
- They don't care if you work for other tutoring companies, right?

It's now January 2020. I wish the OP or someone else doing this would give us an update on how this job is going these days.
Any tips, tricks, etc. on how to get hired on?

Yes, a camera is mandatory for the Tutor. The student is allowed to turn their camera off but not the Tutor. The longest lesson I have ever taught was 90 minutes but that is rare. The lessons average 30-45 minutes. I occasionally teach 60 minute lessons. The shortest lesson is 5 minutes because those are what we call FT Students. FT stands for Free Trial. The Free Trial lessons range from 5 minutes up to 30 minutes but are typically 5 minutes. We get paid .17 minute for all calls on the regular Cambly app. They have another app called Cambly Kids that you could get invited to apply for which pays a little more. I prefer teaching adults and the criteria is higher to get approved to teach on the Cambly Kids app. Most lessons are just basic conversation practice. Some request a special lesson such as grammar, resume writing, homework help, or something else but you can pick and choose what you are comfortable teaching. The Cambly library has lesson plans if you need them. Some students follow a formal plan and the next lesson will show up on your dashboard. The trick to getting hired is smiling as much as possible in your video that you have to do to apply. Speak at a moderate speed and appear warm and friendly. You are allowed to work for more than one Tutoring company but you are not allowed to tell the Cambly Students about your another company that you work for. If they think you are poaching students for Cambly to teach on another platform or privately you will get terminated. Also if you have a teaching Youtube Channel you cannot tell the Cambly Students about it because it is against the rules. Overall, I love teaching for Cambly I just wish that they were better about providing constructive feedback and that the rating system was not so arbitrary. I love getting paid every Monday and that I can take off anytime on want and schedule my hours around my life. It is a good place to teach English and earn easy money in your free time if you do not have a degree and are not certified. Hope that this helps!

^ Thanks a lot veganpommom! Have you since started working for another English-teaching company these days & if so, which one(s)? I know there's quite a lot of them out there, but they're not all created equal & some are better than others to work for. I have an ESL (English as a Second Language) certificate that my state issues, but just to be safe, I'm in the process of getting my TESOL certificate too. On another note, have you learned of ANY other good WAH jobs...teaching or other? Feel free to PM me anytime!
