Hello! I’m reaching out to telecommuters / remote workers for a project I’m conducting as part of a graduate course. I wanted to extend an invitation here in case anybody who fits in those categories might be interested in sharing their thoughts. If this is not an appropriate use of the WFHW discussion board, I sincerely apologize for misinterpreting the discussion board rules.
Between April 10 – 16 I’m hosting online focus group discussions for telecommuters / remote workers to share their ideas about what might help them feel connected to their organization and their colleagues. The research aims to generate suggestions for what workplaces can do to alleviate any feelings of social and professional isolation their telecommuting / remote staff may experience. Those who complete a focus group session will receive a $15 Amazon gift card as a small token of gratitude for their participation. The conversations will be made up of small groups of 5 – 8 people, last approximately 60 minutes, and will take place online. (No webcam or microphone will be required, as the conversations will be text-based.)
If anybody has any questions or concerns, I'd be happy to answer them on this thread, in a private message, or by email at lsjostro(at)purdue(dot)edu. If you’re interested in participating, please fill out the sign-up form at purdue.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3t66cQzkAFqNGFn at your earliest convenience so I can schedule a discussion group that works with your availability. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
