if i had to guess they like to build up a bunch of candidates for training and get them all going at once.. for my job I signed an NDA and got the next steps email like 3 weeks later, with 2 weeks of training, and a few more days so that my contract began on the first business day of the month. Good guess except they already sent out training for the position to people who filled out paperwork after me. My guess is they lost my paperwork and are not organized or decided against moving me forward and never let me know which is unprofessional. I would still try for it. Who knows? Could be the best job ever.

I don't know if I'll be much help! But over two years ago I almost started with iStoftstone and then I got hired on to ZC and chose to be with them instead. I just remember iSoftstone being self paced and I had to figure out everything on my own. I never took the assessment. Also...it's Bing ads (I believe) so it's totally different than what ZC and Appen do. I will say that I do enjoy doing rater jobs! It's the perfect stay at home mom job for me...when there is work available. I say go for it if you're almost done with the process for iSoftstone! Yea information on this particular job is hard to find. I just did 6 months with Lionbridge as an ads evaluator but was one of the unfortunate ones to be let go. I liked the work so I will probably give this a go. The work seems very similar to what I was doing. Yes this is for bing ads and not google. $13 per hour up to 25 hours a week I figure is worth giving it a shot. We will see what happens. Thank you though for sharing!! Not a bad gig at all! It's more than LB pays lol Good luck!

Well hey, they may have a spot for you now since I completely bombed that assesment test. That was brutal. 60% was passing and I didn't even get 50%

justinIm24,
I'm glad you were able to generate some discussion about this company and I hope people will continue to join in. I moved all the posts from the other threads back to this one so they don't get buried and people can find them easily.

i do a text annotation job for isoftstone... while the training is brutal, hundreds of pages of stuff.. it is pretty worth it, as the job is pretty simple once you understand what theyre going for.
$13 an hour.. only rarely are there no tasks... up to 25 hours a week... plus, for an online job.. it has pretty good communication... only bummer is it only pays once a month.
if you see this one pop up, its worth trying

Was a lot more in depth than the ads evaluator job I was doing with Lionbridge. I'll just keep my eye out for something else.

Anyone know if you can work at another similar company on a different project while working at ISS?
For those that work @ ISS how is things so far?
Has anyone, at anytime, worked @ ISS and other companies doing the same job(ex: ISS and ZC doing Ads Eval). How does the same program with 2 different companies & search clients differ?

Different clients so there is no conflict. I don't work for iSS but am training for the test. The guidelines are different than G's for Ads.

If you'd like some tips I can't let you know that even if you fail the 200 question practice test, they will still allow you to take the 50 question qualification test. You need 60% on he practice test, and I only got 52% but they still let me take the qualification test. That one is only 50 questions and requires 75% to pass. I took it last week and scored a 56%. But they are allowing me a 2nd chance and I will be taking it tomorrow. I highly doubt I will pass it but just letting you know you don't have just one shot at it. But good luck! Hope you can get on

It is really hard.I did hear that you get numerous chances to pass though.

I did improve and got 62% and appealed a few I got wrong but still no good. I'm not even asking for a 3rd attempt because I could take this thing 10 times and I don't think I would ever get 75%. I don't see how anyone could. This rating system is way more in depth than I am used to. But still best of luck to you. Let me know how it turns out for you.

There is no rhyme or reason to the ratings or guidelines. It seems that the whole thing sets you up for failure. I am half done with the training and am at 48%.

Sorry to meddle in, but I am currently working for LB as a Rater and would like to know if I can apply for this type of job too without it causing any conflict.
Thank you!

Yea that would be one way to describe it. LOL Even some that I thought I absolutely had right, were wrong. Obviously people are able to pass this, but I don't think I ever could. I read and reread the guidelines, even referred back to them on every question, and still didn't come close. I gave it my best shot at least....twice! HA
